Beginning Machine Quilting, with Betty Whitman
Time: 1:00pm - 5:00pm
Come learn the basics of machine quilting! This is a technique class, not a project class. Students will learn the basics of layering and basting a quilt top, straight-line quilting using a walking foot, and free-motion quilting with a darning foot. You will learn enough in this class to begin confidently machine-quilting a small project of your own. (You must bring your own sewing machine and your sewing machine manual to class with you.) You must know how to use your own machine; this class is not the time to borrow a machine. You must have a walking foot and a darning foot that fit your sewing machine and bring it to class with you. The class will also include a discussion of batting and threads.
