Cabrillo Sewing Center 14 March 2008, Friday Embellishments, with Lori Hormann Time: 11:00am - 2:30pm Embellishments suitable for crazy quilting, garments, art quilts. Emphasis at each class will vary, but will include ribbon embroidery, embroidery stitches with varying threads and combinations, beading, ruching, punch needle and other techniques at students' requests. Stack the Deck, with Betty Whitman Time: 6:00pm - 8:30pm This fast, fun and easy class is based on the book <i>Stack the Deck: Crazy Quilts in 4 Easy Steps</i> by Karla Alexander. Using an assortment of fat quarters, either flannel or regular cotton, students will make a set of easy crazy-pieced blocks by stacking fabric squares into a "deck", cutting them into segments, shuffling the fabrics in the "deck", and sewing the pieces back together again.
